You’re never too young to develop an early retirement plan.

One of the smartest things a young person can do is start developing an early retirement plan. Of course, with all the other responsibilities of work and family, this is not something a young person typically considers a priority.

We were pretty much the same as most people, but as we neared retirement age, a light went on. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could retire early?” we asked ourselves. At that point, we set about and put together our own early retirement plan. By following this plan closely, we were able to retire a few years early, and it was everything we dreamed about.

In our book, The Best of Our Lives: Sharing the Secrets of a Healthy and Happy Retired Life, we discuss the process we went through on our road to retirement. While most of the topics are directed toward seniors, those who have not yet reached retirement age will find a wealth of information which will greatly assist them in putting together an early retirement plan. It’s never too soon to start planning how you are going to fund and manage your retirement finances, where you want to live, and how you want to spend the rest of your life. We ask and help readers answer the question, “What do you want to be when you retire?”

For a younger person, this question may not yet be a priority, but it will become the most important question in their lives at some point. This book is a valuable resource for a young person to get started.
